When festivals come to an end many us just think the weekend is over. Its a much greater deal knowing that the weekend you just lived, cannot be re-lived. With the new year only being one month in we have lost a few great festivals. We have started out list off with festivals that have publicly made announcements stating they will not return. Following those statements, we have a few festivals still searching for life, sitting in an unknown area currently, or dealing with legal struggles. Hopefully those last few can figure it out for the better.
In Bloom Music Festival will not return.
Grandoozy Music Festival will take the year off.
Suboctave Music Festival will not continue in 2019, after taking 2018 off to find stability with no avail.
Panorama Music Festival takes the year off to pursue a possible new home in 2020 at Flushing Meadows in Queens.
Suwannee’s Hulaween is in hot water. Some artists from last years event have yet to be paid, along with some other bills (pictured above). This leaves us unsure if the festival will continue. Nothing officially has been announced saying one way or the other.
Ultra Miami / Rapture Music Festival. Ultra was forced to relocated from Bay Front Park after last years event. This year they announced they will be hosting it on Virginia Key for the first time. Rapture Electronic Music Festival already has Virginia Key booked for those dates, and is in contract for the next three years. Rapture has sent Ultra & Miami a cease and desist letter demanding they stop. An official lawsuit has begun this week. Events are still unfolding in this matter.
