Over the past weekend, we took a 2-day trip to outer space. Phoenix Lights celebrated their 5th anniversary alongside some stellar artists and out of this world lights at Wild Horse Pass. Phoenix Lights featured four stages, Fallout, The Colony, Invasion and the main stage, Mothership.

Opening the weekend on the Mothership was Bret Ortiz, who had us moving and grooving. Followed by our beloved Blossom, a Phoenix local, who had some killer bass drops. Over at the Invasion stage, BAILO, HE$H, and Dirt Monkey transported us to a whole different galaxy.

Excision had the crowd throwing up “X’s” and rocking the railing. The wide range of genres allowed for all music lovers to have an intergalactic experience. Shuffling feet and bobbing heads were seen all around Rawhide as San Holo, GRiZ, and Big Gigantic played beautiful melodies and funky beats with live instruments. One crowd member with a straw broom totem even received San Holo’s guitar after his performance!

Love and respect were alive and well during the weekend. My favorite part of the night was seeing an exchange of Kandi from a fan to a Relentless Beats security guard after they handed out water bottles to a thirsty crowd during Vanic’s performance.

With sad hearts, we did have to experience a weekend without Cookie Monsta. Due to medical conditions, he was unable to perform. That did not stop Doctor P from giving headbangers the trip they wanted, and Kaskade fans a set full of house music like none other.

The 5th anniversary of Phoenix Lights surpassed all expectations. Buckle up and join me on the trip to outer space, hope to see you all next year!
