For the second year in a row Snowta New Years Eve Music Festival has brought us into the next year in ways we can only try to describe. This year was their first year featuring two days of the festival, and they rolled it out properly. They brought us some of the most popular artists today in terms of electronic dance music, hiphop, and rap. Featuring the like of Pretty lights, Excision, Gucci Mane, Post Malone, Liquid Stranger, and many more. The day the lineup dropped we knew this would be an experience we couldn’t miss. In addition to four stages of music they also had Alien Laser Tag, Human Bowling, and live painting by artists “Kater.” Night one headliners were Gucci Mane and Pretty Lights. Night one was one of the most interesting events in what we will say as musical history. Right of the bat, Gucci Mane blasted out beats for his hit songs Lemonade, Bricks, Freaky Girl, and one of his most recent hits The Bag. The energy in the building was electric. His wife even made a surprise appearance on stage with him. Following up Gucci, Pretty Lights unleashed a full 2 hour set with all the lights available being utilized to their fullest. Pretty Light’s Live set is just something everyone on planet earth and beyond should experience. Between the kind melodies and his hiphop break beats his music caught the ears of every one in ear shot, and they flocked to Snowta’s main stage to live in the experience. Nights two headliners consisted of Post Malone and Excision. Post Malone played and early 7pm set (he played two more sets later the same evening at other events!) that was one to never forget. He dedicated his song Rockstar to a young boy who was at the festival with his parents who earlier told post it was his favorite song. By the time Near Years Eve’s midnight hour approached Excision took the stage with his legendary “Paradox Stage” set up. People thought out the Minneapolis Convention Center moved into the main area to prepare for the new year, and head bang their way through it all to Excision’s infamous sounding songs. Once midnight hit the whole building exploded with confetti, cheers, and of course enough bass to shake the earth. This event was nothing short of absolutely brilliant. Until next year Snowta.
