This week legendary artists Prince passed away in Paisley Park, his personal studio located in Chanhassen, MN early Thursday morning. Within 1 hour of his passing everyone in the metro and most likely country had heard either via the news or social media. Within 2 hours half of the radio stations in town had dedicated the entire days air play to only playing Prince’s music. Within another hour the venue First Ave, where prince debut the famous song “Purple Rain,” announced they will be throwing and all night dance party in honor of Prince. From 7pm-7am on April 21st into the 22nd thousands and thousand of people gathered in and in front of First Ave to pay tribute. Anywhere you went all you could hear was Prince’s voice shining through and smiles on the faces of countless attendees. With the loss of a legend we mourn, but anywhere you looked you could see hundreds and hundreds of people celebrating the life of the man known as Prince. Everywhere present there love was in the air, the love for Prince and his music. It was a very magical moment in history. This weekend there are countless Prince tribute parties happening in downtown Minneapolis, along with First Ave’s extension to Friday night and Saturday night all night parties going from 1:30am-7am. Thank you Prince, for everything.
